Recent upgrade, missing images etc...

Hi,
I was going through the upgrade process and it just wasn't working no matter what I did so I thought I would just go down the root of a fresh install in a sub dir and use apsona to move it all accross which seems to have worked fine.

I have decided to have a change of template which I last changed a log time ago so have forgotten what bits of code are changed where.

I have read through the whole documentation that came with it twice.

Firstly the images aren't showing on the products or on the jscript banner. As far as I know, everything is in the correct folder for the images, stated on the instructions.

the bottom of the page, I tried to remove the google and the blog links, they will not remove. It tells me what file to alter but they are still there?

there are a couple of other things but the images are quite important.

Hi Amy,
This case could be simple or complex...

A simple fix would be to make sure your new zen cart image folder has been uploaded to your server.

Also, the search engines get grumpy if you have spaces in your image names. eg.Game of thrones fabric.jpg

Hi,
I have the images uploaded in the same place but on the test so ...test/images. I also uploaded the image through the product creator to check that way and it didn't work.
As for the spaces in the images, I never had problems with that, however I changed one and it made no difference.

When I go into the product making page and press add, the next page before listing where it should show all the details and an image, just shows a broken page image instead of the product image.

Also the images in the jscript slider are not working

... It says image does not exist when in product making screens and when in Admin panel --> Catalog -->Product Types to change options in there

IT WAS THE FILE PERMISSION!
I had already checked this twice as well! Good job I went back in and physically changed the number a 3rd time!

Yup, looks like the forbidden error has gone away for accessing the images.

Would still recommend not using spaces for file names. While earlier it was attributed to search engines, you may run into trouble with other image handling software.
