When posting about a problem it makes it easier to help when more rather than less information is provided. The stringIgnoreNull bind type wasn't introduced until ZC 1.5.5, the reported version of ZC involved is 1.5.4. So... what is different about the store as compared to a vanilla version of 1.5.4?
One or more of the changes is written to support ZC 1.5.5 and above only and is why this error is occurring.
A few options: upgrade to ZC 1.5.5 is the most preferred, modify the code to reference a string instead of stringIgnoreNull is probably second best, obtain an older version of the plugin may be the last preferred option as this may result in the loss of newer functionality or not benefit from fixes previously identified and applied.
Answering the questions/comments of the posting tips would help in providing a more direct response.

fixed the issue. looked like there was a problemwith my
admin/customers.php file
I downloaded zencart 1.56v and replaced that file it works now
it looks as though the website files are a miss match of versions or they have been upgraded badly. the files were obtained by buying a template from PerfectusInc I asked for they help resolving one issue but now more are popping up. the site was suppose to go live a month ago but everything has had to be postponed due to these technical issues
Thank you for your reply
Well, looking at the file available from beta (if that far) version 1.5.6, the same reference to stingIgnoreNull is present. Would have suggested reverting back to (using) the 1.5.4 version which doesn't have that issue or upgrading the full site to 1.5.5.
Sorry to hear about the issues that originally occurred and now how solutions are causing problems. :/ that's a shame.

There may be plenty of blame to go around here. Store-bought template. Randomly mixing version files including those newer than the overall version.
Regardless, at this point your only real option is to follow the instructions at https://www.zen-cart.com/entry.php?3...d-of-upgrading. Load 1.5.5f to a test directory and start working.
If you are in a time constraint, don't do anything on the new site but load, add products and images, change color to something you like, add only mods that MUST be there to sell your product, copy the new to your store location (probably root) and start selling.
You'll still have a copy in your test directory that you can pretty up using the money that comes in from sales. On a piece of paper list priorities and follow them. People can't buy from a site that doesn't have product, the ability to purchase, and the ability to ship. They WILL buy from an ugly site or one without the monthly tax report mod.

i have now resolved this issue but was a strange one. and a very unnoticeable one.
within email options
enable HTML Emails show the value True
Please take note of how the value is written
i updated the entry to show true with out the capital T and all worked
baffled me for a few days but it works and that's the main thing.
Mind enlightening those of us shaking our heads? How did setting an option on emails to true allow customer records to update?
The only thing that setting affects is whether or not e-mails are sent in HTML or plain text.
