    Default UPS shipping stopped working

    On Wednesday, 12/05/2018 I changed the shipping module on the back end of our website to allow free shipping on orders greater than $50. We are running a 20% discount coupon this week, but since we don't allow a customer to use more than 1 coupon at a time, our free shipping code could not be used with the 20% discount. Customers wanted to also get the free shipping over $50, so we changed the shipping module to automatically do free shipping. I then tested our website and it showed free shipping for orders over $50 along with the other UPS shipping options.
    It showed regular ground shipping rate for orders under $50, along with the other shipping options. Sometime later, our website stopped showing any UPS shipping options. Instead we got the message: "We are unable to obtain a rate quote for UPS shipping. Please contact the store if no other alternative is shown."
    I have not been able to restore the interface with UPS.
    How do we get the UPS shipping to work again?

    Whenever this happens to me the first thing I do is play with other addresses.....just in case the address I am using is funky. Sounds crazy, but the biggest culprit of no rates message is when a zip code is invalid (as in, the zip code is letters instead of numbers.)

    Thank you for this information.
    I had another employee try a different zip code and it still didn't work.
    We had a couple of online customers call us that they could not place their orders.

    Have you tried reverting back to the same shipping setup as previously and if so does that fix it?

    Do you think it is possible that UPS is no longer supporting the method of communication that is currently in your UPS shipping module? By that I mean any/all aspect, whether it be the destination server or the protocol used? How up-to-date is the shipping module? (already know that the store needs to be updated, but that is probably unrelated to the shipping aspect.)

    The issue is that his host has a very old copy of cURL that is no longer compatible with UPS since they (UPS) have started to increase their security. He's getting an SSL error on connect.
