PHP7 Server Update

Hi All,

I am at present running version 1.5.5e which is running PHP version 5.6.26 on a linux server.

Plugins that I have are: Quick updates, Wishlist, Easy Populate, Shopping cart reminder, Simple Popup, Edit orders, Super Orders, Numinix product fields, Return Authorization, Ty Tracker and All Social Login.

My question is if I have the server updated to PHP7 will I have issues with the present zencart version 1.5.5.5e.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Searching Google for Zen Cart PHP requirements comes up with https://www.zen-cart.com/content.php...o-run-zen-cart.

The forum's search function is not so hot, but Google can get you there if you just add Zen Cart to the search.

However, your main concern should be the ability of the mods to handle the newer PHP. Most were designed in the 5.4 - 5.6 era.

"Will you have issues with PHP7 + 1.5.5e?" Yes. Hundreds of updates have been made in Zen Cart 1.5.6a to ensure people can run under PHP 7.2+ without issues. There have been dozens of tweaks even after Zen Cart 1.5.6a, which at some point will make it into a 1.5.6b release.

...no, not issues with the PHP version, but 1.56a is still on probation, as can be seen by the issues still cropping up.

You should already know that by having tried out your development copy with later versions of php...

Prodding aside, you can probably get it to work with with php7.1 with a few hours working through the various error messages it will trigger (on your development server). There will already be threads here relating to those messages or similar.

PHP7.2 will need 1.56+
