Default Error 500: Internal Server Error

    Hi Everyone

My ZC store was up and running, working fine and accepting orders.
Somehow it started giving the error 500 internal server error when trying to access the store. I can log into the admin fine.

Looking at the logs in ZC it shows:
    15/03/2019 01:36:16 [0.653s] /admin/configuration.php?gID=10

I have not changed anything in ZC. And from trying to find a solution I discovered you are not to manually edit the configuration.php file. However I have no idea where to next? Would upgrading the ZC version solve this issue? My server & ZC details are:

    Server OS: Linux 4.14
    Database: MySQL 5.6.41-84.1
    HTTP Server: Apache
PHP Version: 5.6.30 (Zend: 2.6.0) PHP Memory Limit: 256M PHP Safe Mode: Off
PHP File Uploads: On Max Size: 64M POST Max Size: 64M

    Any help appreciated!
    Thanks
    W

First thing, IMO, is to contact your webhost to ask if they made any server changes and to have them troubleshoot the 500 error.

What version of Zen Cart are you running?
Have you checked the logs folder for error logs?

Based on @drsysko's inclusion of v151 in the post's title, the issue is that Zen Cart 1.5.1 requires the PHP mysql_* functions, which were deprecated in PHP 5.5 (and post #1 indicates that the site is running on PHP 5.6+).

    Hi Melanie

While I was waiting for a reply I contacted my hosting provider advising them of the issue.

    Thanks for your reply

I did check the logs on the server (at least what I have access to) as part of my troubleshooting before posting on the forum. The weird thing from the logs is that it showed "configuration.php?gID=10" as part of the line in the log every time I tried to access the main site from any browser?
I know I never changed anything (server or ZC) after the site was working for a long time. And I have no idea where to go next to resolve this issue. So in the meantime I'll await my hosting provider's reply as I suspect they must done something to their servers.

    Thanks for the reply

So do you think an upgrade of ZC could fix the issue as one possible solution?

    Thanks for your reply

It sounds like you're looking at an Apache server log. I'm talking about the /logs folder that's at the same level as your /includes and /renamed-admin folders. Does it have any files in it that end in .log? Can you post one?
