    Default Upgrade to 1.5.6 failure

I upgraded my site from 1.5.4 to 1.5.6c and am now totally dead. I did this through the Softalicious app inside cPanel on my host.
After the upgrade, it took me to page telling me to run the zc_ install file. It took me to a page that said I needed to be on PHP 7.2. I had my host change that and things when to hell.
I now try to run zc_install and get nothing. Blank screen.
My host has loaded backup versions and same issue.
I've run db_check and db_repair and that looks good.
Right now, we've back the php setting to 5.6
I'm really lost here. I have a feeling that it's some sort of issue with the database, but not sure.
Any help on what steps to take?
    thanks
    Tom

    A couple of things:
    1. Softalicious installs have been "problematic" in the past.
    2. There is no such release as 1.5.6c; the most recent released version is 1.5.6a.

    OK. 1.5.6a.
So, any suggestions on how to fix this? I feel that is I could update the dB, it might solve some problems, but I can't get zc_install to run.
Tech support has restored a couple of older backups of my site and no change

I poked around and found this in a log folder. Does this help?
