Remove category sort buttons

I'm setting up a new site with 1.5.6.a using the default Responsive Classic Template.
When displaying category listings, there are 2 buttons for sorting by Item Name or Price. I would like to disable/delete those but after looking at every configuration setting, I cannot find the switch. Can someone point me in the right direction please.

The only way to really remove those buttons by way of the admin is to display only the product's image in such a listing.

Otherwise, would need to modify includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE/product_listing.php to modify how the sorting options are displayed if any.

I had worked my way though the modules and ended up there right around the time you replied, but wasn't totally sure that was it.

Commented out 2 lines and it's just what I want.

Care to enlighten on why a customer is not to be provided an easy method of sorting product that is presented to them?

I sell basically one product in several variations. Also parts and small upgrades. It's unlikely someone would want to sort rather than browse. That being the case, I like the simple theme, but did not like the extra space consumed by the sort buttons.

However, after trying it, I see it saves almost nothing so it's back.
