I have spent 2 hours trying to find the css to change the color of the category hover...not the text, the entire box changes color and I cant find it anywhere. FF was not helpful at all.

It's pretty difficult to get the browsers to show what hover is doing to a particular background.
Would help if we had a link but, you'll need to find the div for the heading and then find the hover call in the stylesheet that is defining the hover color.
In the standard stylesheet_colors.css of the Responsive Classic, it should be around line 18.
If you used our color change mod, it's on line 31 of stylesheet_colors_split.css.

I hear you. Its classic responsive template. I looked everywhere. searched by html color code and couldnt find it also. I searched every file in zcinstall and could not find looking for string #eee.
OK who changed my code over night? I searched that string and the program didnt have any results.
I searched string eeeeee and it was actually eee. But I have to tell you....whoever did the documentation for that file needs to go back to school. Total mismash. Ive seen more organization and structure in an unopened jigsaw puzzle box.
In deference to the authors, I'm sure their intent was to compress the stylesheet for SEO. Unfortunately, the extra step makes changes very difficult.
You might want to try using lat9's clone a template to make a copy of the original Responsive and then use the color change mod to see if it doesn't work better for you.
