Zen Cart for payments only?

So nice to 'see' you all again :) I used Zen Cart years ago, for many years.
Question to you people, i am thinking about to utilize Zen Cart's payment solutions along with a (separate) Travel services application, to pass purchased items from there to Zen Cart checkout. Would this be possible, of course having to custom code such approach?

Like, summarizing purchased items, pass them as products and add them to checkout process..

You could do this but you don't need to - Zen Cart is a full site solution. All your content can be managed and displayed in Zen Cart.

Thank you for your feedback, i appreciate it. I can't use ZenCart fully since the travel services have a total different sales, cancellation etc and other policies tighten to the application we developed for.
Actually, i had the idea of using ZenCart, since we need to implement various Payment Gateways (already available as plugins here) and it makes sense to utilize a ecommerce platform for the purchases.

I couldn't find any similar thread here, probably no one tried this one before.
Another question is, would it be also possible to allow multiple merchant id's using one installation of any of the payment plugins?
Of course, again with slight modifications ..
The reason for that is, that we allow b2b partners to customize and use the platform for their needs as well.
So basically, the idea is to provide payment gateway solutions out of the box, the partner signs up, chooses the payment gateway of his liking and provides the merchant id.
All i want to avoid, is having to code connections to multiple payment gateway providers from scratch.

And, most travel services (aka future services) are not allowed with Square and a gray area with PayPal.

I am aware of that, paypal is not an option at all
