    Default Adding sidebox to mobile

    I'm using ZC 1.56c. My website is spminiatures.com

    On the computer version of the site I have a manufacturers (renamed shop by artisan) side box drop down menu.
    This is not appearing on the mobile version.
    I didn't find any setting in the admin section.

    I found an old post which references the css files for responsive_mobile, responsive_default and responsive_tablet but the code that was referred to in the post did not appear in the table and mobile files. The code was in the responsive_default.css but the code didn't reflect what was showing on the mobile. I tried changing the code in the responsive_default but it didn't work.

    The code referred to in the post is in the templates/responsive_classic/css/responsive_default.css

    /*bof side-boxes*/
    /* ADD { display:none;visibility:hidden; } to Hide Side-Box */
    /* LEAVE BLANK { } to Show Side-Box */
    div#documentcategories {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#categories {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#whatsnew {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#manufacturers {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#reviews {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#featured {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#information {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#moreinformation {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#bannerbox {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#ezpages {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#recordcompanies {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#musicgenres {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#bannerboxall {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#search {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#bannerbox2 {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#bestsellers {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#specials {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#whosonline {display:none;visibility:hidden;}
    div#shoppingcart {display:none;visibility:hidden;}

    On the mobile display the categories and ezpages are displaying even though the code above states that they're hidden. When I left the manufacturers line blank, it didn't change the display on the phone. My question is, is there another file responsible for the sideboxes that are visible in the mobile display?

    Thanks for your help
    Carol

    You may have yourself somewhat in a loop of confusion. :)

    Here's some troubleshooting tips.

    To understand the css from a tablet or mobile perspective (there is one for each). May I suggest using your desktop and setting the current template/layout to whichever you are interested in: mobile or tablet.

    To do this, add the parameter layoutType= to your Web address. Then you can use F12 to inspect the data and temporarily modify the css.

    To view as a mobile device add mobile at the end of the new parameter. To view as a tablet, add the word tablet.

    See, part of the issue may be the cache of data.

    You'll need to edit your /includes/templates/responsive_classes/templates/tpl_modules_mobile_menu.php to add the display of that sidebox.

    P.S. Do yourself a favor and "clone" (via Clone a Template) your current copy of the built-in responsive_classic template. You'll save yourself a world-of-hurt the next time you upgrade.

    I do have everything cloned but thanks for the tip. I learned this the hard way.

    I've tried several trial and error and I'm at the clueless point. Is there somewhere I can find the code I need to put in to that file.
    Thanks

    The reason I asked is that the site you posted is using the responsive_classic (misspelled in my original post) template.

    How would you add the display of a blank sidebox that is replacing the categories sidebox to this file?
