Default Plain Text is only available Editor

Noticed 2 issues after a installation of v1.5.6c, then beginning to import products from on older version. Working in a test location before rolling out as a production.

    1. The only available text editor is Plain Text.

    2. There are no pages listed under any of the EZ Pages options. Is that normal?

https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=1098 is the ckeditor for Zen Cart. No editor other than the plain text is loaded with a new install.

If, by ezPages Options, you mean Tools >> EZ Pages does not show any provided pages; did you load demo products with the install? Was it a download ZC, unzip, install installation? Did you use an "auto-installer" provided by your host? You did well in telling us about the environment. With it being an installation-related problem, we need to know how that was done.

Demo products were not included during the installation.

I downloaded the install directly from zen-cart & un-zipped it. Then uploaded via SFTP and connected to a new, blank mysql db.

Still wondering if your EZ Pages is a partial white page or if you see the Zen Cart logo in the footer.

Actually I'm more concerned by having only a plain text editor. Without the option of an html editor the only way to add links to edit the record via phpmyadmin which I'd rather not.

See attached image for the lack of a choice.

Regarding the EZ Pages, I wasn't clear enough. There are no pages to edit. See attached screenshot.

David, as @dbltoe indicated, there's no longer an HTML editor built-into Zen Cart. The ckeditor editor is a drop-in plugin that will enable you to edit HTML content more easily in the admin.

    Oops!

Missed that before. ckeditor is now installed and defined.

But the input description field is missing. See the attached screenshot.

    Advise please.

Have you gone to the menu Configuration >> MyStore and scrolled to the bottom to set the editor to html?

What do you mean by input description? There is a product description field in the area of the lower screen. In the upper area there is still the selection of the editor where I see ckeditor is now selected.

As to having to use the phpmyadmin to add links if ckeditor was not installed doesn't make sense. Ckeditor makes it more convenient to enter the information, but it doesn't do anything "magical". All things entered are html code and that code can be entered directly in Zen Cart rather than having to access myphpadmin. Also, if able to access the tools->install SQL Patches, then sql script can be executed there.
