Default WARNING: An Error occurred - No myDebug-xxxxxx.log in /logs or /cache with 755

    Hello,

We are running 151, upgraded MySQL and have begun receiving the infamous "WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again." message on various portions of the site (search, bottom of product pages, etc).

I followed the instructions here: https://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?124-blank-page

Unfortunately I could not locate any myDebug-xxxxxx.log in /logs or /cache folders. The article mentioned setting up write access and both folders are currently set to 755. The /logs folder has recent files in it, but no myDebug-xxxxxx.log files. The /cache folder has 16 files from 3 years ago, but nothing recent, and nothing with the myDebug...

Help, not sure what to do and the site is not working well!

If you upgraded to 5.7, you are going to have problems until you get your host to lower restrictions.

Ah, thanks. What specifically should I be asking them to lower?

Can be different for each host depending on what their settings are on the server you're on. See if they will know from telling them you're getting 1055 PHP errors.

It's HostGator so they sometimes can get confused. Are you referring to disabling strict mode: https://serverpilot.io/docs/how-to-d...e-in-mysql-5-7

Hopefully, they won't give you a hard time. Understand that you are probably one of several hundred on that server and they will be reluctant to "downgrade" everyone.

Haha! We are on a VPS with them so in this case the many are the few. ;-)

Looks like Strict Mode for MySQL was the source of the problem. Thanks so much for the assist!
