    I understand what you are saying and I totally agree. I reinstalled a back up last which took me back to before I started to edit.
    I did exactly above and did not make any difference.. what file and exactly where to I put the line mentioned above as it had no impact.. it’s now left me with my nav menu not showing at all

    iv restored again and site works fine..

    added this #logoWrapper{display:none;} to the bottom of the stylesheet and the logo goes but so does the navigation bar which i don't want so what file do i edit

    Try moving one step down. The wrapper tells you there are multiple items. If you just want one gone (like the logo) and not the other (navMainSearch) pick which one to eliminate and add display:none to it.

    In this case #logo {display:none;}
