show date available during checkout process

is there a way to get the date available to show up on the cart page and rest of the checkout?

The post #4 (https://www.zen-cart.com/showthread....70#post1258270) of that thread provides a method to obtain the available date for the product. That result then needs to be further incorporated into the associated page(s). As lat9 points out in that thread, the display/incorporation of that piece of information may need to depend on what is presenting the information. For example, in six months time, when reviewing the order, is it desired to see that it was available 4 months ago or should that information not be present? What if the product is available tomorrow but shipping is not for 2 days, what should be shown where?

If it really is just during the checkout process and not on anything after that (e.g. One's order history even), then the change(s) would be to the template files and possibly add some code to an observer for that/those pages to set the necessary variables for display.
