    Default Website maintenance period

What is the highest number of hours that can be entered in Configuration->Website Maintenance->Website maintenance period?

Can it somehow be set to indefinitely?

The value entered in that field is used in the display for the default down-for-maintenance page:
    Code:
    Line #28 : <h3 id="maintenanceDefaultPeriod"><?php echo TEXT_MAINTENANCE_PERIOD . TEXT_MAINTENANCE_PERIOD_TIME; ?></h3>
The TEXT_MAINTENANCE_PERIOD is a language-file constant and the TEXT_MAINTENANCE_PERIOD_TIME is that configuration setting's value.

To add some additional description, the value entered is what is displayed to visitors blocked from seeing the associated store content. Further the value does not count down nor change (unless changed in the admin). So when the store is placed and maintenance mode and for however long it is in maintenance mode, the content will be displayed to those visitors.

Ohh so 'Website maintenance period' is not actually a count-down to automatically disable maintenance mode. Maintenance mode will stay in effect until I manually disable it in admin regardless what the value in 'Website maintenance period' is. Is that correct?
