txt editor addon not showing dialogue box when adding or editing products

Hello, 1st post ever. I needed to have a txt editor, so I searched the forum and found dr bytes tinymce and uploaded the contents.

I installed addon txt editor, am able to choose it, it shows as selected editor in the category and product- but the editor dialogue box itself does not show on product page in admin - please help.
I have tried to resolve before posting.
I do not want create any more products until I can edit them correctly.

DETAILS:
Fresh Install of latest version via FileZilla
no customizations - just some use in the admin panel to display/ not display etc
Hosting Omnis
Addon: Dr byte's tinymce text editor
default reponsive classic template
Linux server
PHP 7.2
MySQL Version 10.4.12-MariaDB-1:10.4.12+maria~buster

That's an oldy-moldy editor. Try the CKEditor (https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=1098) instead.
