Can't login to admin

Ok. I have checked my logs and the results are same. Check the log date above. This problem comes and goes after stuffing around with chrome install/uninstall etc.. how come this error not logged?

errors are always logged. unless you have a really incompetent sysadmin managing your server (highly doubtful).

the ZC error logging "feature" is a wonderful tool, but there are errors that happen that the ZC error logging does not log for any number of reasons. you need to talk to your hosting company about getting your apache logs... assuming you are running apache. but your hosting company should be able to point to you where your error logs are....

may not tell you anything.... but we can make some assumptions....

and prior to the assumptions, lets start with the facts. the log is showing a file not found error. that is a 404 error. it does not say 404. so your host is not showing you the full error log. that is a FACT. ok, maybe not, maybe someone is going directly to YOURSITE.com/403.shtml; but i think the odds of that are highly unlikely.

the file not found error is for a file called 403.shtml. that is NOT a file that is part of the base ZC package. that is a FACT.

a 403 error is a permissions error. so it looks like there is some sort of permissions problem on a file/resource; there is a .htaccess rule to redirect to the 403.shtml error page, but that is not there so you have a file not found error. you can check your .htaccess file to see if what i say is correct. should be somewhere on your control panel or you can get it with an ftp client like filezilla or the like.

tell your host, you need more info and some bloody help on resolving how we are getting to this file not found error and perhaps we can get it resolved.

Ok, thanks will do...
In the meantime, I have replaced all admin and includes (files only inc htaccess with exception of configuration files ) from a working live copy. the result is the same. I will now compare the configuration files...

Regarding "maybe someone is going directly to YOURSITE.com/403.shtml" may be so..not sure as I am getting a lot of dummy client registrations and keep culling them and could not figure out why maybe all related?

UPDATE: Both Configuration files are same (with an exception of passwords etc)
**Additionally when I request for the password to be sent I never receive it. I can log in using Edge Browser and delete the users and recreate different user and works with Edge but not with Chrome. I have deleted the browser cache and even uninstalled then reinstalled Chrome. Same results**

what happens with firefox?

if you can login with edge and not with chrome, then you could have some sort of security thing that chrome is unhappy about. i am far from an expert in browsers and compatibilities.

but i would look into firefox and see if it works there.

Firefox logs but with a warning. How can I get rid of the warnings?

I believe the warning is because you are not using https: to access your site.

Sorry for not getting back earlier. Mine only worked if I used different browser. In Chrome it did not work asreported..even after cleaning the cashe and even using different computer. It only worked in Edge browser.

I will try your solution and see if it works.

No the MS Edge browser wont let me login.
I have created a fresh install ito a folder on the same domain and even that I can not login.

I can login with any browser to my other zencart sites on the same server no problem Only this domain...why????

It is in my config files and URL's when I am trying. How else should know that not using https: to access my site?
