    Default Where is $_SESSION['cart'] set?

    Hello

I would like to know where $_SESSION['cart'] is set?

[Note: remember to include site URL, ZC version, list of plugins, PHP version, etc ... read the Posting Tips shown above for information to include in your post here. And, remove this comment before actually posting!]

    Thanks DrByte, what about v1.5.1?

I'm really hitting hard my head to figure out how I could do.

Each product_id of my catalog comes in different "versions". Those versions are identified by a serial number. I want customer to choose from a dropdown the serial number they want.

I could do this with attributes, BUT I store serial numbers in a separate database, on the same server, so I need to pass to shopping cart, and to classes/order.php and classes/shopping_cart.php this variable.

I really don't know how to make it work. I see in shopping cart page that it gets a POST "serialNumber" as it should, but I don't understand how to store that with the product.

It should work just like TEXT attribute.

    But I don't understand.

Could you please give me an hint so I can maybe find the way?

    Thank you

It was a different approach using $_SESSION because you suggestion to go through extra_cart_actions was no help.
