Problem with duplicate manufacturers

Hi all.

Our site is all about ebooks - so our manufacturers are authors. We have a world-wide team adding data and often an author gets duplicated. Whilst we can search on our books for duplicates there does not seem to be a way to search on authors (manufacturers) to look for duplicates.

Is there a patch or add-on that will do this please?

You could adopt Find Duplicate Models to search the manufacturers table instead.

Thanks. Will take a look at that. Not sure why nobody has ever added a manufacturers search

As one who needs this capability, once you've found/adapted to the solution, I'm sure the associated plugin would always be welcome to be added! Take whatever baby steps necessary to get there and then feed back to the forum what you can and if necessary someone can help package it if it is otherwise thought to be ready for distribution.
