Default Removing "Model:" and "Manufacturer:" in my shopping cart?

    Hello.

I would like to remove both "Model:" and "Manufacturer:" concerning our food products. There is no model and we are the manufacturers.

    Thank you.

Would just disabling the display be sufficient?

Admin: Configuration: Product Listing: Display product manufacture name and Display product model

    Set to 0 or false

    Thanks RixStix.

Both have already been set to 0, which I believe is OFF, however they still appear on the COMPARE list.

I'll suggest looking in your template's rendering of that "Product Comparison" block; it's apparently ignoring those settings.

Forgive me for my ignorance, however, please explain.

That is not a page that is in a standard Zen Cart template. Doesn't mean it's wrong or shouldn't be there. It works well for your needs.

What it does mean is that the designer of the template was not aware of the database switches that could be used to turn on and off those listings.

They have probably hard-coded the display in the file that creates that page.

Since they did it that way, it might be easy to find out where it was done by using the Designer's Tool Kit and searching for Manufacturer: in the catalog.

Got it. I'll try that. In the mean time I had also purchased support from the designer "Perfectus" and posted a ticket along with the the screen shot on their support page. I should be able to solve this pretty quickly.

Thank you so much for the heads up.

    Glad you have contact.

If the site I found is correct, you may want to discuss the site's inability to display properly on a phone.

Not sure of anyone else's website, but with our website it looks great on all phones and tablets. We're using the Goodwin template from Propectus.

    Thanks again.

I contacted the designer of the template, Perfectus" and found out the following:

"The compare page has nothing to do with the Product Listing settings in the Admin. Also, by default the compare plugin does not provide an option in the admin to remove certain fields. To remove unwanted fields you will have to edit the tpl_compare_default.php file under includes/templates/(folder name)/templates directory."

I followed their directions and it worked like a charm.

Thanks for all your help dbltoe
