Default Stylesheet colors store in database: where?

I thought all the site colorations were in the stylesheets but found yesterday that they must be stored in the database somewhere.

Where is this somewhere, please? I try to keep my Sandbox site updated but use god-awful colors in both admin and website so that it is obvious to me that I am either in the Live site or Sandbox site.

I restored the latest Live database to the Sandbox site yesterday and was surprised that all the god-awful colors where changed to the Live site colors. Expected the colors to be from the stylesheets. Restored the Sandbox DB and the god-awful colors returned.

Sounds like one of the databases had template_defult in the template_select table under the template_dir column.

Colors are in the stylesheets. Stylesheets are in the templates. Templates are in the database and selected using the Tools menu.

I know, overkill for you but info for future googling.

    Thanks,

Each site has its own, different version of a cloned responsive default template followed by using RC color changes.
Crud, now I see said the blind man. I had to restore the Live Site backup into the Sandbox due to an OOPS during the beginning of 156c tests. That's how the Live Site template folders got mysteriously added to the Sandbox.
