    Default Products & Customers are still in MySQL database on my server.

    Well I will be downloading the 1.5.7 version real soon. I still have products & customers in MySQL Database on my server. What I need to know is I don't have the actual Zen-Cart on my server. Is there a why to connect to that without starting from scratch? So I won't lose any my current products and my customers.

    If you have an old database that you want to use, just specify it in your includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php after you install the files for Zen Cart 1.5.7.

    You'll be updating the block at the bottom of these files that says:

    define('DB_TYPE', 'mysql'); // always 'mysql'
    define('DB_PREFIX', ''); // prefix for database table names -- preferred to be left empty
    define('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8'); // 'utf8' or 'latin1' are most common
    define('DB_SERVER', 'localhost'); // address of your db server
    define('DB_SERVER_USERNAME', '');
    define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', '');
    define('DB_DATABASE', '');

    Create these files from the dist-configure.php files included in the build in the two folders.

    Why not just do a clean install of Zen cart 1..5.7 plus any plugins you require and once you are pleased with the result import your customers and products into the new database.

    Not a good idea, especially if the various database tables have been changed (which is quite likely) in the transition to zc157.

    The procedure for setting up a new 1.5.7 site for testing and eventually making it use your "actual" data is all spelled out here:
