define pages not showing in sidebar after install via Installatron

Ok to answer Simon first, I do not have that file in the directory you have shown. I looked in the responsive classic template and it is not there either.
includes\templates\[my_template]\templates\tpl_index_default.php

There is "index_categories" & "index_products" only.

And in Admin, the only thing under define page status is "define_page_not_found"

So I am missing something here I guess!

Ok so I found that file in includes/templates/template_default/templates

And copied it across to my template. I removed the text that says <!-- deprecated - to use uncomment this section

And now I get in the main page of the site:

This is the main define statement for the page for english when no template defined file exists. It is located in: /includes/languages/english/index.php

Some more info: I reloaded classic template, and responsive template. still nothing in admin>configuration>define page status.

I have also gone through my files and made sure wherever there was a default_classic folder I had my own template folder with the same content.

I have gotten nowhere with this, hours spent reading and finding nothing that explains why I don't have anything in:
admin>configuration>define page status. The only thing listed is "Define Page-Not-Found Status"

I have checked database and run a repair, there was nothing there. I looked at logs nothing there to explain this.

I am guessing there is something else missing in my files that were loaded by my host.

Now I have just discovered I am actually on 1.5.7 and not 1.5.6c that was showing when I did the Installatron install on 05/07/2020.

I have restored the english.php file to original and left it alone for now so the welcome msgs are all default in centre page.

All I want to be able to do is: define main_page, shipping_info, terms_of_use etc! with my own html content.

I too used installatron and have the VERY SAME issue. The define statements allow me to edit, when you open the define pages on the server, the changes are visible, but they are not displaying to the public. I too am using the responsive_classic template.
