I need help updating my database

ok.. i just got 157 installed and working.. so now i want to have my old database added to it.. and i am not sure how to do this. I did not see any where or button or url to point to to add my old database.. can someone help me

There's a number of ways to do it...

If you used something like my database backup on your original site, then you can do a restore of that to your new site, though after the import will have to leave the admin and perform the database upgrade right away...

Otherwise, phpMyAdmin is a way to transfer/copy/export the database from your live site to your new location.

i did what you told me to do.. my categories, and products show up.
but my customers do not show in the admin side but they are in the database i reloaded.
I get this error

Database Engine: MySQL 5.7.31

so i am unsure what to do from here.

So from there, need to upgrade the database. This is done by using the zc_install process (again) only this time, do a database upgrade. DO NOT do a fresh install at this time.

The zc_install folder is in the original fileset of the new store. Be sure it is for the same version to which the database is to be upgraded.

Like MC says, you will be looking for the "Upgrade" button when you do the zc_install. It looks like this:
