Word press / Zen Cart mix?

Hello,

I have seen a couple of examples of people having a website that is made in word press, but one of the available tabs is actually a link to a store.mysite.com.

We are selling reproductions of works of art, and greeting cards. The idea is that each of the artists would be presented on a page in Word Press(I am comfortable with WP)(www.mysite.com), with links from the WP site, to the ZC page with the artists items for salestore.mysite.com. And, from ZC, a link form a product page would go to the artist page.


What are the advantages/disadvantages of this type of set up.


As well, being less comfortable yet with ZC, how would yo build these "artist" pages, or company info pages? I think that EZ pages might do this.

Why you wish to mix, wordpress has own ecommerce module, you need just export current zencart shop data into.

+1. I see WAY too many people doing a crummy job building a blog and a store when they could at least do a decent job building a store if their efforts weren't divided.

If you really really really want a blog, why not open one on wordpress.com and let *them* deal with keeping it up to date so your store doesn't get hacked?
