    Default Possible Bug

    Zen Cart 1.5.7
    MySQL 5.6.36-82
    PHP 7.4.4

Only plugins install are Backup MySQL & CKeditor

We enabled Catalog >>>> Product Types >>> Product - General >> Layout Settings > Show Starting At text on Price and now it simply won't go away. I verified the database is correctly reporting 0 configuration_value and the modification from admin was logged in the row.

I can't duplicate this problem on a clean v1.5.7 install.
Toggling the setting to off causes the Starting At text to disappear as expected.

The most likely reason for the setting not having any effect is using a template that doesn't account for the setting. This is common with Template Monster and other templates, where they aggressively strip out things they don't wish to design for ... thus leaving storeowners with less functionality.

PS: In the future, a more descriptive title than "Possible bug" would be helpful.

@mprough - is this really Melanie posting? Your one-word replies are quite uncharacteristic.

You've given so little information about the actual problem that it suggests whoever's actually posting is new to Zen Cart, not Melanie.

So, I'll reply with the basics:

    1. Out-of-the-box Zen Cart is working as expected.
    2. Your upgrade is not.
    3. Therefore things in your upgrade are breaking it.

    4. You've asserted that you're using the default template. You've not asserted that it's completely uncustomized.
The symptom you posted about could be caused by template customizations.

    5. You've mentioned nothing about taking the time to compare the database configuration between your imported site data and a default Zen Cart install, including especially the configuration table and product_type_layout table.
    What are those differences?

    6. You've mentioned nothing about all the non-original files that exist on your "upgraded" site. Every file that's not original from Zen Cart could be suspect. Every one.
    How are the files different?

Thus far you've not provided enough information to lead to any ability to consider this a bug.

I thought this was pretty detailed. Just forget it.

Some templates simply ignore the Zen Cart flags and just display things the way their designers think is best.
Is it possible your template is doing this? Try switching back to the default template and seeing if the flag is respected there.
