PHP file in /admin/includes/javascript/ folder

I've read in another discussion on this forum that JS files autoload & therefore must not contain PHP (this was mentioned in connection with the Advanced Shipper module by CEON).

I noticed that in plain 1.5.7, I've got the following file:
/admin/includes/javascript/product.php

I've not noticed any errors with it, but as the file contains PHP I assume it should not be in this folder location?

While php code INSIDE .js files is bad, having php files with php code in the directory is not a problem and that file is supposed to be there.

That PHP file dynamically generates javascript when loaded as a script src= property.
It is intentional.
