I'm troubleshooting a 1.5.6c store. If I change line 564 of functions.php to the code you supplied, will this be the only fix required? is there a list of any other fixes that came up from that release that I should keep in mind?

lat9, I'm only using text input attributes and one page uses a file upload attribute. No radio buttons.

While it would seem that that one change would resolve *this* issue, there are other fixes that have been made following the release of 1.5.6c. Those are also captured and others in 1.5.7 (which also has "fixes" beyond the original release)...

The issue/situation I see is that when the empty array was being provided (the expected desired condition to support other areas and more stringent php processing) then that empty array goes through the hash process, though in truth there is nothing to hash.... the result of hashing the empty value though produces a hash value...

Both /includes/classes/shopping_cart.php from v1.5.6c and 1.5.7 cause this bug

I can't replicate it in v1.5.7.

This bug is completely random, I have another store (different business) running 1.5.7. Same upgrade path, same server & doesn't exhibit this issue.

It does definitely appear to be random.
