    Default Office 365 keeps rejecting messages

    Hi all

    We have recently moved to Outlook 365 for mails. Unfortunately whenever someone places an order we don't get the order email as normal.

    Instead we get an undeliverable notice from Microsoft Exchange, basically notifying us that our email was suspected as spam and rejected.

    Has anyone else had the same issue? If so, did you resolve it and if so, how?

    I welcome any help/advice.

    check a couple of things:
    - email transport = smtpauth
    - smtp email account mailbox and password as correct and have been verified as login credentials for outlook email
    SMTP Email Mail Host = smtp dot office365 dot com
    SMTP Email Mail Port = 587

    Hi swguy

    I have checked all of those settings. We ere using Php for email transport which worked. Have just changed to smtpauth, and we have received nothing.

    I have just tried to send me a test email and I get this error message:

    ERROR: Failed sending email to: "Me" with subject: "test" SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMail...roubleshooting

    Notice: FAILED to send Email to all recipients: [email protected] (0)

    Two Probable Solutions.

    Both require using SMTPAUTH:
    - email transport = SMTPAUTH
    - SMTP Email Mail Host = smtp dot office365 dot com ("dot"s replaced by ".")
    - SMTP Email Mail Port = 587
    - smtp email account mailbox = same as the mailbox name used for office365 login


    1. Quick
    Like Gmail, Office365 has a "switch" to configure to allow SMTP use:
    - In your Office365 admin panel, find the account for the Mailbox User you want to send "from"
    - Under that account's "E-Mail" tab, find the "E-mail Apps" section and click Manage
    - Enable the "Authenticated SMTP" option, and save.
    - In Zen Cart your SMTPAUTH Password = your mailbox password which you use to login to the account in Office365

    2. Slightly more complex
    If that isn't enough, then you can also go one step further and create an "app-specific password" for your Store to use:
    - in Office365 enable MultiFactor Authentication
    - then login to the specific mailbox account you wish to send From
    - under My Account choose Security&Privacy, then Additional Security Verification
    - choose App Passwords, and create one. For the "name" (which is just a description of where you use it) say "Online Store", then click Next
    - you will see the password generated by Office365. Copy that password to your clipboard
    - paste that password into your Zen Cart's SMTPAUTH Password field instead of the usual password you use to login to the mailbox
