OK the problem appears to be the standard V1.5.7b Responsive Classic template.

I have switched back to Classic (Green) which appears to work OK but now I have to reprogram everything yet again.

I think whoever develops these templates needs to test them fully?

Just to be clear, you mean that the people (developers) who spend hundreds of hours writing software that they give away for free, should also, at their own expense, buy every possible device to test it on so that the person (you) who pays nothing for the software can gripe and blame those people for incompetence if it perchance doesn't work perfectly?

The number of people who surf the web on a Kindle is vanishingly small. You can focus on the four major platforms (Apple phone and tablet, Android phone and tablet) and call it a day - no need to test on hardware no one uses.

With the greatest respect to the developers of Zen-cart (the best format for selling available), OwenB's website is selling books and probably has a higher-than-most Kindle customer base.
OwenB: Please don't piss off the developers and contributors, they ARE really nice and helpful people.
