    Default Problems trying to have Office 365 deliver store emails

    Hello,

    We just moved our store over to a new domain name and things are working well. Except for email notifications that is.

    Email delivery works fine if we use the old domain name, but when we tried using the new domain name we no longer get confirmation emails when completing a purchase. So, we have Office 365 and trying to make that work to send store emails and no luck.

    Went through procedure 1 and did not resolve.

    Went through procedure 2 and Microsoft has changed the screens. I was able to enable MFA, login to the mailbox, but Additional Security Verification does not exist under Security+Privacy. I could not locate Additional Security Verification, nor App Passwords.

    Appreciate any help as we cannot send confirmation emails to customers currently!

    Have you determined whether "we no longer get ... emails" means
    1. "the store can't send emails" (because errors are encountered, and found in the logs in the /logs/ directory),
    2. or does it mean "our email provider is dumping them because it doesn't recognize the authentication" (evidenced by errors reported on their end, or emails bouncing or stuck in queue with your provider)?

    What does "did not resolve" mean?
    - "resolve" could mean "SMTP host name not resolved by DNS lookup" (which means you've typed it wrong)
    - or it could mean a number of other things, like "we couldn't resolve what the instructions meant for us to do", etc
    Without you posting an ACTUAL error message, or at least the actual specifics of what "did" happen, all we can do is guess ... and I'm sure you'd prefer more than "guesses" as answers to your post.

    So, I googled for "office365 application-specific password" and first result was Microsoft's own help page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...a-a6f2979a7944
    I don't have an Office365 account, but I'm guessing that Microsoft's documentation will have the closest matching descriptions and options and screenshots to suit your question.
    I've added that link to our docs page for faster reference.

    Thanks for your response. I ended up just relaying though the mail server on the VPS instead.

    Anyone who is successfully using Office365, please follow up to this thread with any tweaks you had to do. I think there are more changes required beyond what is documented in the link in the first post.

    Zencart v1.5.7c

    I ran into the same issue when Godaddy migrated my site to Cpanel and moved me to MS365. After 1 week of reading and trying every configuration in the email setup of the site. I worked this out with tech support.

    The fix was in my situation. My email routing was set to "Local Mail Exchange". I changed the setting to "Remote Mail Exchanger" and I was then able to receive emails from my Zencart.
