add selected to cart showing in some listings only

In some of the listings the "add selected to cart" is not displaying, I have read some other thread, and the configuration in product listing should be fine, indeed in some listings it does display; in one of the threads I read the linked products might have this behaviour (given I understood correctly), however on the local test site it does display on the "big linked" listing.

It would appear that while the /amber-c-3_4 category includes sub-categories (e.g. necklaces-c-3_4_12), it also includes products. That's a no-no in Zen Cart land. That's why the add-selected-to-cart shows on the necklaces category but not on the amber one.

I knew about this, and I think I followed the "rules" (please see attached image of the setup, unless I messed up in linking few ones, would that show up in the screenshots?
In case not readable where there is a category, or sub-category the products count is 0.

Oof, that came out way tiny for my eyes to see what's up. Are there both products and categories in that Amber category?

In the amber sub-category there are 3 categories, and 0 products.

Please see in this image, I put in red the numbers (top number the category count bottom number the products count ... but you already know that ;))

Having re-read your original posting, along with the details you provided, I'm guessing that the highlighted addition might be the source of the issue.
