Has the usps shipping module changed in v1.5.7c?

My USPS shipping module is heavily customized to provide the most appropriate shipping choices (most of the time anyway) for our products. For example, if someone orders a quantity that requires a minimum size of standard USPS box, they won't be presented with the choice of a smaller box. If I can use the same one in v1.5.7c it will save me a lot of trouble copying those changes over.

The USPS shipping module is released on a different schedule from Zen Cart. As long as you use the latest one from the downloads, you'll be ok.

Further if your customization uses the notifier/observer system, then an upgraded version should (in a large number of cases) remain compatible with the customizations. Depending on how those are applied, there may be little to no adjustments necessary when the base plugin is updated other than accounting for php related differences.

The customization doesn't use the notifier/observer system. It just excludes various shipping choices depending on things such as product quantity and size (the customer can't specify shipping in a Small Flat Rate box if the product won't fit in that, for example). Our inventory is standardized enough that this works well for us and allows the customer to choose the least expensive shipping option for them. It has been very popular. Looks like I'll be doing some copy/paste to move it into the latest USPS module, though. Thanks, both of you.

Yes, I use that for situations where there are a lot of things scattered throughout a file. In this case, it's two blocks of text that I can easily lift from one and insert in the other.
