I am trying to set up downloads, however I have tested several self purchases and all it shows is the URL to the file. It does not appear to have a button to download (just text). I would also like for it not to show the entire path but don't know if that's possible...

I have gone through and followed all the steps I could. somehow it is not working. All it shows is the long string of the url- its not even a link. I can provide a free coupon code for you to check it out and see the problem if you could possibly help me fix this!

I am seriously losing money each day with these designs not showing up to download!
I HAVE followed all the instructions in the FAQ
All it shows on purchase is a text string of the address- NOT an image OR link!
I really want to give ZC a chance here- I like how you can customize it and the admin page, but I am seriously going to SC this if I cannot get the download feature to work. It is pointless if I keep having to refund customers because the link doesn't work and they don't want me to email them the file!

Your site doesn't have an active SSL certificate. You'll need to (a) get an SSL certificate and (b) update both your storefront (/includes/configure.php) and admin (/YOUR_ADMIN/includes/configure.php) to identify that

1. SSL is enabled
2. All HTTP_SERVER and HTTPS_SERVER definitions start with https://

Fyi, those are basically required by the browser(s) not because files can't be downloaded by Zen Cart.

In other words, the thought is that the same problem/issue would exist for other ecommerce applications...

I decided to go with another website builder since there is so very little support. I will learn WP and continue from there. ZC WAS a nice little program until it got too complicated and redundant with little support.....

"Little support"??? That's new... what other support request did you have in and/or what of the above was performed or not?
