v1.5.5f
I want to redirect site treeoflifejewellery.com to treeoflifejewellery.com.au using the 'wildcard' redirect option in cPanel which 'redirects all files within a directory to the same filename in the redirected directory'. The sites are clones of each other but with some variations in category names - e.g. /tree-of-life-pendants-c-1 vs /tree-of-life-pendant-collection
Question: before effecting the redirect do I need to make sure the category names on both sites are exactly the same ... including the -c-digit suffix??
cheers,
Mike
Reason (if interested) -both sites are currently operating and have been for years but the dotcom site is not sustainable from Australia for the reason of very strict ongoing airline restrictions into and out of Australia which are predicted to continue for at least another year. This has affected international mail which has resulted in the cheapest form of mail from Australia to the U.S. being around USD18.50 (restricted space so cheaper mail levels are eliminated). The products being sold average about USD30 hence shipping equates to 60% on top of the average selling price of product, in some cases more than double the cost of the selling price.
Redirecting may give the .com.au site some extra authority and link juice - if not then, I'll maybe sell the .com
