Default [Warning] Using a password on the command line interface can be inse

Hello, I upgraded to 1.57C and when i do a database back up using the tools--database backup in the admin area, i get the following warning on the very top of the screen:

0 => mysqldump: [Warning] Using a password on the command line interface can be insecure.

should i be concerned? How to fix?

Thanks. Everything works fine only the ominous warning from the Zen Cart Team... is chilling!

If you have access to the cPanel account for your hosting there is a backup wizard in there too, you can take a full account backup or backup individual mySQL databases.

Hi, yes...but way more convenient, in my case, to use the zen cart to do it. So the question remains, should i be concerned about this warning?

What version of the Backup MySQL (https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=7) plugin is in use?

    1. The question by lat9 is relevant. Are you using the latest version of the plugin?
    2. The " [Warning] Using a password on the command line interface can be insecure." warning is only a warning. It should have done the backup anyway.
(The plugin does indeed open a command-line and pass your database password to it in order to do the backup, so the warning is somewhat expected. The alternative is to make you type in your database password, which is not ideal in this case where you're wanting a 1-click-backup.)
    3. The cPanel note is valid: your hosting company's control panel typically offers you an option to make database backups there instead of within Zen Cart.

the one built into the latest version 1.5.7c.. going onto host to do it takes time and log in, etc... the built in zen is very convenient and a smart addition, only that blasted warning!

Um, no, there's no built-in backup in v1.5.7c.
It's probably there from the old version you upgraded from.
Thus, best to check whether your plugin is up to date.

The warning is a sort of disclaimer then, as we live in a litigious world. Okay... thanks

I upgraded and now it doesn't work.
    Result code: 2
0 => mysqldump: [Warning] Using a password on the command line interface can be insecure.
1 => mysqldump: Got error: 1045: Access denied for user 'mydbusername'@'localhost' (using password: YES) when trying to connect
Failure: The database has NOT been saved.
