Customizing Emails

I am in last stages of testing my new site and I have run into an issue with the header Image for the emails. I replaced the header.jpg file in store/email/. For the next few emails, that header image did not change at all. Today, all the emails have a broken link icon instead of the header image. We have a banner type logo that I use for this and it has a transparent background. It is just under 16k in size. What are the requirements for this image. Is this the only image file I need to tweak?

well now I am embarrassed. I was in this Email help file all day yesterday and somehow I missed that entire section.
