    help question Backup extension?

What extension is used when saving a backup?
I am desperately seeking a backup I HOPE I made at some point of my old website that I had paid someone to customize.

I could have changed the title but wouldn’t have changed the extension and want to search my computers for it.

    Thanks !

Do you mean the database backup, using a utility like Dr. Byte's Database Backup - MySQL plugin?
If so, try ".zip" or ".gz" or ".gzip" - it's likely one of these.

Yes and thank you! Unfortunately I can’t find any backup which means I paid to have it customized a few years back … for nothing . Now I need it working and not possible
Must be a reason I guess.
    Thanks for the info though

And since it’s been so long … would it have defaulted to save to my computer ? or ??

No, it would have defaulted to saving on the server in the home directory (top) level and you would have had to download it to your local.

Could be a longshot but try contacting the people or company that did the work and see if they have a backup.

Yeah first thing I did. He deleted it all. Was going to get it working again but then didn’t. So I’m out the hundreds of dollars I spent to have it work and that just breaks my heart

After looking at your other thread, did you search for a ".sql" file? or ".sql.zip" or ".sql.gz"

Oh yes I searched by every possible extension and even a few I might have changed it to.
    It’s gone.
now I have to find a way to bring it back … myself
