Zen Cart upgrade and PHP version issues

I am using ZC v151

In the admin panel, it is showing the version is v151 ( as shown in the screenshot below)


When I clink on check updates, it is showing "Your version of Zen Cart® appears to be current." Why is it so? I am not getting option to upgrade it.




My site is hosted in GoDaddy. The cPanel shows the PHP version is 7.4


But in the admin panel of my site, the server/version info is showing PHP version as 5.6.40. Why is this discrepancy? How to correct it.

goDaddy is not my favorite host.

we know the most current version is 157c. you are running 151. why your 151 version is telling you it is current might be of interest to you. but we know that is wrong; and the why would require a little digging into the code. it seems that section of code is here:

newer versions of zc make use of curl to get the results. but feel free to dig in if you are interested.

in answer to your next question, overriding of php versions is something that most hosts provide. this can be done on a directory by directory basis (i do not provide hosting services, someone else here might provide more granular info if so desired).

the version that zc is reporting is what zc is using, so there is an override somewhere further down the chain from where your cpanel is looking.

There were bugs in the version checking logic in older versions like yours. You should still upgrade.

Just follow the instructions in the doc for upgrading:
