Upgraded from v1.39h to v1.57c, now no order confirmation or account creation emails

Upgraded from v1.39h to v1.57c, now no order confirmation or account creation emails
I can successfully send emails via Admin->Customers->Email
But with a new account creation, no email is sent.
Orders go thru, but again no order confirmation email

The Admin --> Configuration --> "E-mail Options" was unchanged
E-Mail Transport Method: PHP

How can it work manually sending, but not work otherwise?

go to admin -> configuration -> e-mail options -> email archiving active and set to true.

then place a test order and see if a record shows up in that table.

I created a new account, and the welcome email is in the DB archive table
but no email was received.

do you have any error logs?

if there are no error logs, then either the email was sent or there is a problem with your error logging.

troubleshooting why you did not receive an email is a different game. did you check your spam folder?

I was messing with shipping yesterday, and there are logs in there from that... none today and none related to emails
I have tried several different emails.. None of which have spam folders.
I have been reading the email debugging docs, not sure what to try next

I tried changing to SMTPAUTH, I must have configured it wrong. When I attempted to send, I got several errors at the top of the page and there is a log file with the error. So we know logging is working.

The plot thickens.....

Zen is sending the emails. If I create a Zen account using an email not related to the same host, that is an email not hosted by the Zen hosting provider, the email is received. If the same is attempted using any email hosted by the hosting provider (godaddy), nothing is received
Yet, I can email between email accounts hosted on godaddy. I can send to those godaddy email accounts from outside email, like gmail.


So the problem is zen hosted on godaddy sends an email to an email account on godaddy, and its not received. Since there are no errors when sending and the email is in the archive, it would seem to be on the receiving side of the godaddy email account. And its that account that receives a copy of the order confirmation.

something new for you... i hate godaddy....

that said, i am not sure the problem is with godaddy. could be... but it is potentially a configuration issue with dns.

in any event, you seem to have it more under control.
