    Default Paypal Commerce

    www.tidytoys.co.uk
    v.1.5.7c

I had a phonecall yesterday from Paypal asking me to switch to using Paypal Commerce or revert back to Paypal Express.

They said there was new legislation from today (14th March 2022) PSD2.

Is there going to be a new plugin module so Paypal Commerce can be used ?

I was told that there are no monthly fees for using Paypal Commerce and the rate is 1.2% + 30p

I'm hoping you have better luck getting an answer than I did
    https://www.zen-cart.com/showthread....or-EMV-3DS-2-0

Currently my WPP checkout is still working and credit cards are being processed with 3DS, however I had my WPP module updated by lat9 during my site upgrade. This kept my 3DS v.1 verification by Cardinal Commerce working.
(I think the update to 1.57.d might include this fix - there is mention of a payflow uk fix)

However this will need fixing before October, when Visa and Mastercard have announced they will require 3DS v2 for credit card payments in UK and EU.

If a module for Paypal Commerce is not planned I'm looking for a developer to take the project on!

Yes my WPP is still working too.

Ive only just upgraded to 1.5.7c and that took loads of work.

I had trouble with adding Royal Mail postage and had to revert to an older plugin and modify that.

Id like to use the new Paypal Commerce ... I think that the percentage fees are lower than the usual fee ?
but if theres no plug-in for it, I will move away from Zen Cart.

Unfortunately as Zen Cart is US centric and 3DS isn't yet required for US credit card payments there does not seem to be any urgency from the devs to switch from WPP to Paypal Commerce.

The Square module has an update/patch making it SCA compliant but still needs updating by July when the libraries used are being deprecated/changed.
It is apparently being worked on.

However like you I would ideally like to move over to PPC as the processing fees are considerably lower than WPP or Square.

I've been using Zen Cart for 10+ years and would like to stay with it if possible but going backwards to only having Paypal Express checkout is not an option.

PayPal Commerce looks more like a complete solution than a payment method you can drop into an ecommerce system. Do any other open source systems have a plugin for PP Commerce?

I should have clarified that is for credit/debit card transactions. Paypal transactions are the standard 2.9%+30p
