Product only available for collection

So most of products are shipped via a carrier, but some products are too heavy or large in size and the cost of shipping would be too expensive. But these products could be collected by the customer from a store. Thanks for replying .

Some folks will not be in the area of your pickup point, some will want to pay shipping, and some will want to use Store Pickup.

With Store Pickup, you can set the pickup location, limit it's availability to a certain zone, even add a fee for getting the item ready for pickup.

@swguy that’s exactly what someone has asked for but beyond my capabilities . Thought there might have been a plug-in . Thanks for replying maybe it could be considered as a feature for the future.

Two options then:

a) Hire it done (go to the commercial help wanted forum)

b) Learn to do it yourself (not hard, and it will give you new marketable skills - give it a shot.)

Look at Optional Payment Method to see how to hide payment methods:

You need to do the same sort thing, except for shipping methods - you'll be hiding all methods except storepickup when a collect_only item is in the cart.

Then use that same filtering logic in the shipping estimator OR turn off the estimator if a collect_only item is in the cart.

@swguy thanks for this information.
Do you know if it's possible to adapt the 'this product is free' in the admin create product ? So you could select if a product was collect only, default being no.
Appreciate the help and guidance
