I am trying to remove, 'Click here for a Detailed Invoice' from the Confirmation Email. The link doesn't work because purchasers do not create an account.

and the link disappears but a link to EMAIL_TEXT_INVOICE_URL_CLICK shows in its place.

You'll want to change the text email as well. Change line 1069 in includes/classes/order.php if you haven't done so:

FROM

EMAIL_TEXT_INVOICE_URL . ' ' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ACCOUNT_HISTORY_INFO, 'order_id=' . $zf_insert_id, 'SSL', false) . "\n\n";

TO

. "\n\n";
