    Default Moved /shop/ To Root Folder Now "Page Not Found" Error If I Don't Use index.php

    Hello members,

    I'm using v1.5.7d, and it has been running flawlessly until an hour ago when I wanted to move my store from /shop/ directory to the root folder of my site.

    1. I made all the necessary changes to the /includes/configure.php and my /admin/includes/configure.php files.
    2. I moved all the files in the /shop/ folder to the root of my site.

    The problem I'm having is that whenever I type in my site name it keeps looking for the /shop/ folder, which is not there anymore.

    3. I double-checked both the configure.php files and they appear to be correct.
    4. I double-checked my cPanel "Redirect" and I don't have any redirects.
    5. The admin folder and login works flawlessly .
    6. The store pages work flawlessly too, but whenever I click on the "Home" page, that's when I'm being told "404 Page Not Found" The requested URL /shop/ was not found on this server. , because it's still looking for the folder /shop/.
    7. If I type in index.php it will take me to the home page.

    So, whenever I try to go to my root-page.com it gives me a 404 error.

    I don't know what I missed, but I'm sure it's something I am overlooking.

    Any help appreciated.

    Perhaps you have a .htaccess file at the root that needs adjusting?

    Thanks for the reply. Right now, my .htaccess file contains only this info:

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
    RewriteOptions inherit

    # php -- BEGIN cPanel-generated handler, do not edit
    # Set the “ea-php73” package as the default “PHP” programming language.
    <IfModule mime_module>
    AddHandler application/x-httpd-ea-php73 .php .php7 .phtml
    </IfModule>
    # php -- END cPanel-generated handler, do not edit
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I am not sure what I may need to add or modify in the file. I've been searching online but can't find anything I'm missing.

    Do you have some kind of SEO URL rewriting mod running? If so, turn it off.

    This might be a stupid answer but have you cleared the Browser cache.? From what you are saying that sounds like the problem

    Yep. That was the problem! I thought I cleared out the cache. Obviously I didn't.

    Now. How are you going to advise your customers to do the same thing or otherwise get directly to your main page?
