    Default settings pages low speed

    hi everyone,
please could you suggest me where find solutions to this.
i'm installed template monster on zencart wesite, and look was very pretty good, for user website working fine and no general issue.
so, only during admin session, loading items, navigate inside general settings and so on, low speed is a disaster.
sometimes 5/6 sec to loading pages, adn sometimes is very hard to load items.
support said me there' not issue during call to webserver.
i think the reason colud be during call to db, reply and things like this.
now db is empty and pics are between 90 and 150 kb.
    any advice?
    thanks

FWIW, those "Template Monster" templates can be (a) very intrusive in their carving up of Zen Cart core files and (b) very database intensive.

Most of them look "very pretty", but you'll need to make a decision as to the site's prettiness vs. the site's ability to easily sell products.

I'll recommend that you take a look at the ZCA Bootstrap template instead: https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=2191

    i prefer barolo...

i'm going to respectively disagree on this one. while what @lat9 says may be true, @brunello is talking about the admin experience, not the user experience.

even if the template carved up the zen-cart core files, that would be on the user side. now on v157, there has been a lot of consolidating of functions, so that might come into play. but again, i'm suspicious...

a 5-6 second delay on the admin side sounds like something is waiting for a return call from outside the zc ecosphere. or potentially an index is missing... or something else...

if it is a db problem, one could try enabling the slow mysql log, although i do remember some issue with that not being properly set. but that is potentially where i would start as opposed to ripping out the whole template.

Can you easily deploy a vanilla build of Zen Cart and see how the admin responds when no modifications have been made? This would just help you isolate the problem more. You'd want to use the same database settings in your configure.php files.

As far as the previous suggestion of an alternate admin, generally it is possible to install or load an additional admin directory that has just the core files. If the problem is only in or only to test the configuration menu, there should be no issue.
