    Default Email service suggestion

I have been using MailChimp for my weekly newsletter for several years. I am still on the free plan because I have a small list, and didn't need all the bells and whistles of automation and such. Now, they are changing their plans and the free plan only allows 500 emails sent per month, so I would be stuck having to pay about $50/month for sending 4 emails per month, which seems like an overkill.

Can someone suggest another email service that is either free or lower cost for this purpose that can integrate with zencart?

Some suggestions are in the help: Constant Contact, SendInBlue, and Sendy.

Other than for MailChimp, has any other module been developed for other emails yet? I know the article seems to say no, but I don't know when it was written (and modules COULD have been developed since).

You can see when an article was written by scrolling to the bottom - the date is shown there.

As far as I know, the answer is no. HOWEVER:
    - these companies will generally give you a signup form that you can put on your site on one of the extra pages page_2, page_3 or page_4. (It may or may not work on an EZ Page; you'd have to try).
    - you could just turn off the Zen Cart newsletter features so that only this form would appear on your site.

This means you wouldn't have the integration at account creation time that Mailchimp does, but that's not the end of the world.

Depending on how brave you are, German Zen Cart have a SendInBlue plugin. Not knowing their history, I wouldn't bank on it just being a drop-in.

Yet another option is provided by Zen Cart 1.5.8. You can use the newsletter tools to build your newsletter and then send it using an extern SMTP server. See
