    Default How to this error

    Hi All,

I am getting this error in the log file and wanting to know how I can correct it please. I am using version 1.5.5e

The issue you are having is that you are running out of memory. You can update the amount of memory available in cPanel.

You can read more about it here:

... or you've got a "run-away" plugin (whatever mailhive.php is) that's consuming too much memory and/or not doing proper memory-management.

AFAIK, mailhive has been abandoned. Also, 1.5.5 is quite old, and uses an old, unsupported PHP - you should have upgrading on your roadmap for this year.

This issue may be in regards to some change or maybe an attack? If you notice he is having problems allocating 96 bytes? I am having the same problem right now with:

    [19-Mar-2023 22:25:30 America/Chicago] Request URI: /index.php?cmd=admin_activity&action=save, IP address: 68.*
--> PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 49152 bytes) in /home/nobodyknows/public_html/admin/admin_activity.php on line 184.

I have been using this every month since updated without issue and then today it is giving me problems. I have not made changes... .Website runs on a managed VPS server. I rebooted and noticed that it was trying to allocate less but still not able to do it. Website seems to be running okay as far as I can tell. There are only 3475 items in the activity_log table.

    (You are presently using: v1.5.7c)

    HTTP Server: Apache
    PHP Version: 7.4.33 (Zend: 3.4.0)

    PHP Memory Limit:
    128M
This page isn’t working website.com is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500

    Thank you for any help!

I increased memory limits from 128M to 256M and it worked. Still strange.

Not so strange, it depends on what was going on in your admin before the issue raised itself. If the admin-activity-log gets too big, there can be memory-related issues (as you identified) when trying to save its contents.

mailhive.php is part of MailBeez and no, it hasn't been abandoned, but I'm not really sure if it's still free with new installations.

As swguy already mentioned, the problem is probably related to using ZC 1.5.5 because it's obsolete, and there have been quite a few updates in MailBeez as well. I have a client running 1.5.7c and using MailBeez without any issues (but it's been kept up to date since install).

I did not realize that they were continuing to support the product (if not the free version). Thanks for the info.

    Hi All,

Thanks for the information about Mailbeez which I have now removed from the site which has made it work a lot quicker. I now have no error logs showing.
