Problem with adminer

I created a database first so that Zc could use it for installing.
I created it in maria db server with my root username.
Database created OK via terminal.
When I attempt to log in to adminer I type name of database, user root +password and it replies something that does not make sense:
Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'
I could use adminer fine in the past and don't understand what is happening now.
Please help.

SOLVED!!!, I realized that password for mysql user root@localhost is different from the one used for my compute instance, I needed to use mysql:
MariaDB [(none)]> SET PASSWORD FOR root@localhost = PASSWORD ('only mine, sorry');
ckosloff is back, with his reputation untarnished.
