How to show products in stock

I will have to buy from a wholesaler so sometimes they send a box with 10 units per product, and I have to pay for box.
Then I calculate price per unit and I publish it.
How do I show amount in stock? Of course in the bginning it wil be 10, but that amount will decrease, how show that?

Show it to you, or your customer? Check your settings in Admin - Configuration - Stock.

Navigate to the admin's Catalog :: Product Types and click the Layout Settings button next to the type of product you're using. Change Show Quantity in Shopping Cart from 0/False to 1/True.

With all due respect for your programming skills, shouldn't it rather be Show quantity in stock, anyway both are set to 1. Thank you.

Are now because one or both were set to something else or are set to 1 as they were already set that way?

Actually I am just starting to load products snd haven't made any sales yet, just preparing, so yes, I set settings to 1 intuitively.
