Default GDPR or Cookies plug in - or other solution for V158a ?

Hi. I am based in UK, so need to have some sort of cookie warning on the home page to appease our European neighbours.

Most the other open source carts have either an inbuilt cookie warning built in, or an extension/plug in to provide one. Usual click to accept button and never see it again.

Was wondering what solutions you guys have come up with to comply with this 'legislation'.

All input, thoughts, musings and helpful ideas welcome.

    Thanks

Here's the simplest cookie warning plugin. User can only confirm, there are no advanced choices and it does NOT block cookies until confirmed, it's just a notification. You can see it in action on my site...

Thanks for the link Balihr.. You'll be pleased to know that it installed easily and is unlike some other offerings, it is fully functioning and again unlike some other offerings, is fully responsive, so no display issues.

Thanks for putting this out there, as this was the only remaining obstacle to me deploying my sites with Zen Cart.

German courts have held that a GDPR cookie acceptance tool MUST offer the ability to reject all technically unnecessary cookies with a single click of a button. Additionally, the user should have the ability to opt-in/op-out of marketing, analytics, preference, third-party cookies, etc., an "I understand" is not enough.

Question to developers: can we expect an extension for accepting cookies in the near future that complies with GDPR regulations or is there another known way perhaps with a third party solution?
    Thank you

I've used this (https://www.osano.com/cookieconsent) on a couple of clients' sites with success.

There are a number of free/open-source options on GitHub for gaining consent before deploying cookies, unfortunately I have not yet found any that record a log of these consents - which I believe is a requirement.

I am currently looking at Quantcast Choice (free) which does log visitor interactions. They have been bought out by inMobi and Choice accounts will be transferred by Nov 15th '23 so I won't fully test/install it until then as I think there will be some code changes needed. Whether Choice will stay free and whether inMobi will offer it to new customers of theirs after the 15th - it seems so

Currently Quantcast Choice is a free CMP, is that still the case?
InMobi plans to uphold the platform's free availability for existing Quantcast customers
and is committed to extending this promise to both existing and new InMobi customers.
